Big Ol Bruce is a Mt Isa miner. he’s a good honest country bloke. He works hard, loves his mates and fishing and mostly he loves his girlfriend Jeannie more than life itself. But Bruce has a secret. And when the town thugs come calling, he’s going to need his secret to save him.

President's Message
My first show since I was a teenager was JC Superstar with Prima, where I met the multi-talented Terry Frawley.
I came to help in a show here at Act 1, fell in love with the place and have never left. That was 13 years ago now I know enough to understand how the Theatre works pretty much from top to toe, and young enough to take it through its next phase.
We do have a younger generation stepping up to continue the Theatre’s traditions — by younger, I mean 40s plus — those who have found their way back to the Theatre and are now here for the long-term. Over the next couple of years, we’re going to be looking to them to step up and keep Act 1 Theatre strong.
Here’s to the future and bring on the next adventure!
